Ulta Haul

I normally don't let myself get within 20 feet of any Ulta (so many impulse purchases happen there...), but since I had a gift card to spend, I made an exception. As it turns out, Stila had just released some new colored eyeliners, and I, being the eyeliner addict that I am, got sucked into buying a few. A few other things might have ended up in my cart...

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream Review

In this post, I talked about some new products that I picked up from Antipodes. I hadn't been using their day cream for long enough to give it a thumbs up or down at the time, so I've decided to check back in and share some of my thoughts about it now that I've given it a fair shot.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask Review

The fact that Origins has two moisture masks that both have the words 'Drink Up' in their name and smell like apricots was a little bit confusing for me. I sought out the overnight mask about 6 months ago at Sephora and unknowingly came home with the Drink Up 10 Minute Mask instead. Although I realize that they're fairly similar in texture and scent, I still wanted to try the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and see why this is the more loved and raved about sister.

There are a lot of things that I love about this mask. The scent, the ultra creamy texture, and the fact that this is all of the moisture that my skin needs overnight but it doesn't make my face feel greasy or end up all over my pillow while I have it on. It's also much quicker than applying all of the lotions and potions that are normally slotted in my nighttime routine, and my face doesn't suffer from my lack of diligence come morning. A lot of people who have reviewed this product really notice that their skin is plumped up and more healthy looking after using it. I can't report the same results, because I don't think that I've noticed any miraculous change since I've been using this product. However, it is a nice treat for my skin on those nights when I'm too tired to bother and would've slapped on any old moisturizer to be done with it.

It's a nice product to use and have and I'm sure that someone who has more troublesome, dehydrated skin would see a bigger difference from this, but I take such good care of my skin already that it's hard for one product to really Make a Difference (See what I did there with that other Origins range? I know you're smiling, don't lie!). Not an essential, but it's a good one to try if you ever find yourself battling dry patches or inflamed skin. Soothing, hydrating, and a good one to pop on if you don't want to scare any of your family members that might see you around bedtime. It will be used and loved until the very last drop, as it is a great moisture mask even though I feel that it's a little too hyped up.

Have you ever tried any of the Drink Up Masks? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments section below.

Naked 3 Tutorial: Easy, Polished Eye Makeup

This is my 'Camera, why won't you focus?!' face... and then my camera focused at an inopportune moment. Oops.

When I was getting ready to go out for dinner one weekend, the spirit struck me to pull my untouched Naked 3 palette out of its box and start making some dents in those gorgeous shimmery shades. It's definitely a more subtle look than what I usually go for, but there is a small part of me that loves neutral eye makeup like this. It's very easy to replicate, but since there's been so much buzz about the Naked 3 recently and it seems like it was in everyone's stocking this Christmas, I thought that I'd add my tutorial into the mix. Read on if you'd like to find out what I used!

Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm Review

Omorovicza had 30% off on their website as a Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotion, which is when I picked up a full size of their gorgeous Deep Cleansing Mask. I was planning on buying something else with the 30% discount, but I wasn't prepared to buy the $86 regular price Queen of Hungary mist even with the money off. I perused my bedside table to see if any of my staple items were running out, and lo and behold, I saw a huge dent in my Dior Creme de Rose lip balm. I hadn't heard of any deals on Dior products, so I decided that I would purchase Omorovicza's pricey $45 lip balm to replace it while this amazing promotion was still running.

Mini Sephora Haul

I was a girl on a mission to find Hourglass's Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick last weekend, so of course, I found myself in the makeup lover's paradise that is Sephora. Riviera, Raven, and Icon all called my name when I swatched them, but with the help of my dad, I decided to pick up Icon. This is a different take on a classic blue toned red as it's a little bit darker than its traditional counterpart. I don't think that I have anything in my collection in this shade, liquid or not, so I'm pleased that I managed to get my hands on it, and I'm looking forward to giving it a test drive soon.

Clarins Extra Comfort Cleansing Cream Review

I found out from this post by Caroline Hirons that Clarins is releasing a newly formulated version of their Extra Comfort Cleansing Cream this month. I haven't seen any press releases for it and it's still up on the Belk website here, but I imagine that it won't be available for much longer, as it's not showing up on the Clarins website anymore. So, before this standby product of mine is no longer available, I thought that I'd get a review in. Let's get on with it!

Antipodes Haul and First Impressions

The stories behind all of my recent purchases involve my indulging due to discounts that were available during either Black Friday or Cyber Monday, so I'll spare you the details of my recent Antipodes splurge! What I won't leave out are all of the wonderful things that I have to say about these four products, which have done things just short of miracles for my skin since I've started using them.

2013 Skincare Favorites

Although this 2013 favorites post isn't going to slip in at the end of 2013, I think that it's still worth sharing with you. Even though I've made some new skincare purchases recently, I thought that I'd give some attention to the products that have been my tried and true for at least the last three months of 2013. There will be plenty of time in this new year of ours to celebrate the newer, shinier things that have been welcomed into my skincare cabinet. Onto the favorites!
